How To Make A Glitter Heart Headband

What You Will Need

  • A Cloth Headband (Don’t have one that’s perfect for this project? Check out how to make your own!)
  • Glitter
  • White Glue
  • Safety Pins
  • Box board

First you will want to decide how big you want your glitter hearts to be and how many you want on your headband! Once you know, draw them onto your box board and cut them out.

Now either gently poke your safety pin through the back layer of box board (the side that’s printed on if you’re recycling something), or use a hot glue gun to attach it if you’re having trouble.

Lay out a scrap of paper on your work area to catch excess glitter and apply white glue to the blank side of your box board (the side without the safety pin). Next carefully but generously sprinkle your glitter onto the white glue. Press down with your finger to ensure a good even coverage and then set aside to dry.

Once your glitter hearts are dry, tap them on a hard surface to knock away any glitter that isn’t attached. Now pin your hearts onto your headband and you’ve got yourself a great Valentines Day hair accessory! When the happy heart holiday has passed, simply unpin the glitter hearts and you’ve got your old headband back.
